The Challenge

The primary challenge was balancing strict AODA accessibility requirements with the bold, impactful design of the VS campaign. Additionally, the design needed to be adaptable for non-technical users, ensuring the SickKids team could easily create and manage campaign pages without sacrificing compliance or design integrity.

The Solution

In collaboration with my creative director, we utilized the Atomic Design process to build a comprehensive design system that ensured accessibility at every level—from individual components to full-page layouts. This modular approach empowered content editors to create a variety of accessible, responsive, and visually consistent pages with ease, allowing the SickKids team to communicate their message effectively, no matter the campaign or season.

The Results

Our work on the VS campaign received such positive feedback, particularly on the optimized donation form, that SickKids returned to us when they updated their brand. We reskinned their entire site, maintaining AODA compliance while incorporating their refreshed brand identity.
